Abbie’s New Winter Hat

I received some pictures today of a happy pawstomer modelling her new winter hat. Her mom saw one of the dino hats I make and asked if I could make something like it for Abbie to keep her little ears warm in the winter. Overall I like it and thinks she looks adorable in it.

Open Again

After a month+ hiatus we’re open for business again! I won’t be taking on too many new projects for a bit yet but am more than happy to make the standard stuff I’ve always made and take a few custom orders. On top of moving, I just started school again at the beginning of July for the first time in years so a lot of my time and energy is going towards that. Thanks understanding, and I’ll definitely be taking my usual halloween requests. The fuzzbutts nee their costume! =)

Montreal Comic Con 2017 – Mr Dressup Panel

This past weekend I attended Montreal Comic Con to speak at a couple of panels. It was a fun but tiring weekend, and the Zoo sure is happy I’m back home.

While there I did my panel from Ottawa Comic Con called Inside the Tickle Trunk: Mr Dressup. I had a small but enthusiastic crowd. Being an English show many francophone people didn’t know who Mr Dressup was so I wasn’t expecting the crowd to be as big as Ottawa. The crowd that was there loved it, and I made many people happy with my costume. Last minute I decided on making a Mr Dressup costume, and I ended up being very happy with it. Especially the puppets!

Now that Con season for Canada’s 150th is done this panel will most likely be retired, but the costume sure won’t!

Montreal Comic Con 2017 – Cosplay With Pets Panel

This past weekend I attended Montreal Comic Con to speak at a couple of panels. It was a fun but tiring weekend, and the Zoo sure is happy I’m back home.

I did a new panel while there called Cosplay With Your Pet. Overall it went well. Had a decent crowd considering it was a Friday afternoon at 2pm. Basically we spent 45min looking at pics of animals in cute costumes. Not a bad way to spend an afternoon.

I’m hoping to do it again at Ottawa Comic Con 2018. I have a number of things I want to improve, plus I plan to build costumes for animals I know so I can talk about the process etc. So be prepared for cute costume pics of the Zoo (Kara, Bela, & Tray #robacats) and my Squad (Emma and Lily B #robasquad  #wannaberobacat). I’ve also had a few different types of animals offer to be models/guinea pigs! It’s going to be a big year of miniature costuming!

Mission Pawsible – Beat the Heat Online Auction

Until July 16, 2017 Mission Pawsible is having an online auction! The proceeds of the auction go to help out two wonderful animal rescues in Ottawa, ON; The Ottawa Stray Cat Rescue and Furry Tales Rescue.

A word of why the rescues need help from the Mission Pawsible people;

‘Between the two rescues, there are over 200 cats in care with daily requests to take in more cats. The rescues cannot take in cats and help them find their forever homes without the funds to make sure the cats have been vet checked, vaccinated, spayed/neutered and microchiped. Adoption fees do not cover associated medical costs so fundraisers like this one help to bridge the gap.

Please help us make this auction a successful one so that more cats can be saved and find their forever homes!’

The auction is not just for cat lovers! Many of the items were donated by restaurants, jewelry makers, services, and the list goes on.

Bearly Work Creations and I donated a suPURRvisor basket to the auction.

The suPURRvisor basket is a  wicker basket with a pillow and a wooden sign for the front that says suPURRvisior that a small to medium sized cat can fit in.

In the basket is a pillow, a hand hooked wool rug called Fat Cat from Bearly Work Creations  and a number of crocheted things by me; a placemat, a Santa Paws stocking, and a Jingle Jangle toy.

Last Chance to Sponsor Emma in the Walk for Dog Guides

Last chance to sponsor Emma in her walk for Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides ! The walk is tomorrow morning at 11am from Petvalu Beechwood to Stanley park. A long walk when your legs are only 4 inches long.

We set a goal of $200 and so far with in person and online donations we’ve made just over half that. Also, this morning we discovered someone STOLE some of her donation money from the jar in her house.

So any little donation would greatly help a wonderful organization.

***** I’ve been told that with online donations that it looks like you have to donate $25. You don’t. Look for the ‘other amount’ button.

Another Alien Facehugger Sighting

Today I was tagged in a post on Instagram about Etsy finds. Turns out it was a happy pawstomer and her Alien Facehugger from the DRC Workshop.

Here’s what Stella the Scottishfold had to say;

“Being huge Alien fans, the humans are a bit too excited for the new @alienanthology movie… they got me a “face hugger” cat nip knit toy from @delrobacreations

They’re nerds… 🤓

From the pics I think it’s safe to say she likes it. 😉

Galactic Empire Beware

Puppers have joined the Rebellion and are wrecking havoc on the fleet!

I just received a video of a dog named Chewbarka who was just given the first Squeaky Tie Fighter Toy I made. I think the test run went well!

‘He’s so happy with it. It’s beyond adorable. I’ve never seen him go this nuts over a toy. He’s a happy little dude’ – Chewie’s Mom
