Montreal Comic Con 2017 – Mr Dressup Panel

This past weekend I attended Montreal Comic Con to speak at a couple of panels. It was a fun but tiring weekend, and the Zoo sure is happy I’m back home.

While there I did my panel from Ottawa Comic Con called Inside the Tickle Trunk: Mr Dressup. I had a small but enthusiastic crowd. Being an English show many francophone people didn’t know who Mr Dressup was so I wasn’t expecting the crowd to be as big as Ottawa. The crowd that was there loved it, and I made many people happy with my costume. Last minute I decided on making a Mr Dressup costume, and I ended up being very happy with it. Especially the puppets!

Now that Con season for Canada’s 150th is done this panel will most likely be retired, but the costume sure won’t!

Local Craft Wizards Celebrate Spring

Spring has sprung (sort of) here in Ottawa and it’s time to come out of hibernation for a craft show!

Join me and a host of other awesome local vendors at Wizard Werks Spring Fling Craft Show!

On Sunday April 9, from 3-7pm the wizards will be peddling their creations at The House of Targ on Bank Street.  Enjoy some pinball and perogies while you shop!

I’ll have some new pet goodies with me like the Squeaker Tie Fighter Dog Toy I just created.

I decided to do a DRC Throwback Thursday.  We’re going back to about a year and a half ago when I was commissioned  to make a couple pet collars with matching bowties.  I was lucky enough to have their mom send pics! Remember these two cutie pies?

Lots of New Stuff Coming to the DRC Workshop

Now that the Ottawa Pet Expo is over it’s time to concentrate on the home front. Lots of new stuff will be making an appearance in our Etsy shop and here on our site in the next little while. Some of it was available at the Expo and some of it is brand new! Until it’s all up keep an eye on our Facebook page since much of it is available there first.

I love receiving notes and pictures from people about how much their furry companions like the stuff I made for them.

Meet Grissom.

You met this little cuties sister in my earlier post. He finally decided to stay still long enough for a picture. Their mom commissioned me to make collars for them. I used this opportunity to try out making removable bow ties to match the collars.  Little did I know I’d stumble upon such a great model. I may see if he can be a future model for DRC!

Well… if he can stay still long enough. 😉
