For this coming year I already have new toy designs in the works for both cats and dogs, but the really exciting thing I have planned are pet clothes. I’ve decided to try making different types of pet clothes and if they work out I’ll make them available. I made Emma a pair of pajamas for Christmas and she LOVES them. So far I’m happy with them and she looks super cute in them.
I am going to do a few more pairs for her and then try another size. I should probably have them up for sale by the end of January , if not before.
Today was the day, and Team Emma was ready to hit the streets! It was a small crowd, but everyone had a great time. Emma got to hang with the big boys. Two big huskies to be exact.
This was the first year for the event so we’re hoping word will spread and get more dogs involved next year. This year over $1000 was raised for Dog Guides!
Due to Ottawa Race Weekend taking place we had to change the route for the walk, which ended up being a far more pleasant route. The last leg of our journey was along Beechwood Avenue where the race was taking place, so lot’s of cheering and music going on. So we decided to have a bit of fun with it. Even though this was a walk and not a race we cheered the dogs on as they made their way to the finish line. Due to her strategy of slow and steady wins the race (and some help from the husky parents) Emma was the first one to cross the finish line. Little stumpy legs beat the big boys! lol
Thanks to all Emma’s sponsors who helped her raise $131!
Thanks to Pet Valu Beechwood for putting on such a great event! Team Emma will be there again next year!
We set a goal of $200 and so far with in person and online donations we’ve made just over half that. Also, this morning we discovered someone STOLE some of her donation money from the jar in her house.
So any little donation would greatly help a wonderful organization.
***** I’ve been told that with online donations that it looks like you have to donate $25. You don’t. Look for the ‘other amount’ button.
One week from today,on May 28th, my little buddy Emma, her mother, and I will be taking part in a wonderful charity walk event and could use your help!
Today I got the Convertible Pet Beds with Pockets added to both this website and the Etsy shop.
I have a number of pre-made beds but I also take commissions for custom beds. Hopefully all the furry companions who receive these beds will like them as much as Malcolm and his sister do! Their parents had me make a custom flannel Star Wars bed.
I decided to do a DRC Throwback Thursday. We’re going back to about a year and a half ago when I was commissioned to make a couple pet collars with matching bowties. I was lucky enough to have their mom send pics! Remember these two cutie pies?
We’ve added some new selection to our pet collars. They’re now available in two sizes, and we have Star Wars! Check out the new selection on our Collars page.
Yep that’s right. The annual Wiener Dog Festival, Wienerpawlooza, is back for the 2016 edition.
Tomorrow, July 23, starting at 11am the Canadian Dachshund Rescue Ontario will be hosting a wienerific event to help raise money for these lovable dogs.
Held at Carlington Park in the west end, this day has plenty of things to do. There are vendors and a bbq, as well as a costume parade, and wiener races. Yes, wiener races! If you want to see some clips of the races last year check them out after the schedule.
