Attack of the Cute Dinos!

I LOVE getting pictures from customers of their animal companions enjoying something I made.   Especially when they’re of big, scary (cute) dinosaurs like Lexi and Olivia!

Tomorrow, July 23, starting at 11am the Canadian Dachshund Rescue Ontario will be hosting a wienerific event to help raise money for these lovable dogs.

Held at Carlington Park in the west end, this day has plenty of things to do. There are vendors and a bbq, as well as a costume parade, and wiener races. Yes, wiener races!  If you want to see some clips of the races last year check them out after the schedule.

Throwback Thursday at DRC

20141111_110158

For throwback thursday I’d just like to let you all know that I’ve started uploading some stuff to our  Youtube Channel. You can watch videos of the Roba Cats ‘helping’ me with things around here. I’ve made a playlist called DRC ‘Helpers’.

Help Animals In Need Simply By Walking

I just had a great app shared with me called ResQWalk,  and I’ll be giving it a full test run later.

The whole idea is that the app uses the GPS on your phone to track how much you walk and your favorite rescue gets some money.  When you first sign in you can choose which rescue to walk for. If you want to walk for more than one you simply have to reset it to the new one. Many local rescues are already signed up so it shouldn’t be to hard to find your favorite, and the app allows you to follow as many rescues as you want. Obviously I’ll be walking for the Ottawa Stray Cat Rescue, but I may from time to time walk for another.

You can download the app for either iOs or Android. It also helps you find local pet friendly areas such as parks, vets, lodging, etc. All in all a great resource for people with animal companions.

It’s that easy to help animal rescues get much needed funds. Every bit helps!

Lots of New Stuff Coming to the DRC Workshop

Now that the Ottawa Pet Expo is over it’s time to concentrate on the home front. Lots of new stuff will be making an appearance in our Etsy shop and here on our site in the next little while. Some of it was available at the Expo and some of it is brand new! Until it’s all up keep an eye on our Facebook page since much of it is available there first.

This Friday is the last day to enter our Pet Costume Contest!

Win Tickets

Want to win a set of two tickets to this years Ottawa Pet Expo?!

Here at the DRC workshop we will be giving away 2 sets of 2 tickets to this years Expo! And since we love costumes we’re having a costume contest!

From now until October 30th post pics of your pet in a costume in this Facebook post on our page. On October 31st we will be doing a random draw for one set of tickets. The other set is DRC’s choice for favorite costume.

So let’s see some pets in costumes!

A Quick Update from the DRC Workshop

Happy to say that the website is almost completely updated. Added coats and collars to the pet goods as well as scarves and DelPack’s to people goods.

In the next few weeks you’ll be seeing a bunch of new designs come out of the DRC workshop in anticipation of some stuff we have going this fall. There will be new toys, beds and accessories for pets, and new DelPack Heat and Cold Therapy Pack designs.  All of them will be available through our Etsy shop and website, as well as in person if you live in the Ottawa area.
